James Munro graduated from Nottingham University with a BA (Hons) in 1998 and since then has spent his whole working life in Telecommunications.
James started his career at Alternative Networks PLC in 1998 and progressed to Head of Key Account Management.
In 2001 James co-founded Direct Response Ltd bringing his expertise of telecoms together with outsourced call centre services to create a business which in 2004 reached the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards and in 2004 and 2005 reached the finals of the Unisys / Management Today Service Excellence Awards. James was one of four founders that grew the company to annual recurring sales of £5m before he sold his shares back to the remaining partners and left in 2010.
James rebuffed advice that being a reseller was his only destiny and became increasingly frustrated with the main carriers in the UK and the “computer says ‘no’ attitude” of so many network providers so wanted to build his own. James has been working with Richard and Oliver for the past 10 years to create a global multi-site, multi-homed, resilient, independent telecoms network in the UK and US. It has taken 10 years and now between them they have achieved their goal.
James was appointed the Managing Director of truSIP in 2016 and is chiefly responsible for its growth and ensuring its partners get an incredible experience, unrivalled solutions and a personal service at all times.
James and his team remain passionate about delivering consistent, unparalleled service to the customer and channel and remain true to their values at all times. James has been on national radio and national TV discussing the importance of service, ethics and culture in businesses and has written many articles on the subject of service excellence and best practice.
When James is not at work he loves spending time with his wife and two sons and is passionate about rugby and hacks his way around a golf course from time to time.
